PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Well, the month of May is here and the wild turkeys are appearing in a lot of fields. April was a very busy month for the club as we cleaned the garage and the basement in the clubhouse. Thank you to all that volunteered for that day. During May we will be planting American Chestnuts at the Stetson orchards. Al Faust will be looking for people to help with this project, so please see him at the May meeting.

If you are hunting turkeys during the spring season please hunt safely and have fun doing it. At the May meeting we will have election of officers and directors. The Annual Family Fun Day will be June3rd and we could use a few extra people to help at the different stations, sign up with Doug and Cindy.

The supper meal for May will be chicken and stuffing, so come and enjoy.

Thanks,

Deane

UPCOMING EVENTS

June 1st - Supper Meeting will be our annual cookout and Member Appreciation Night with steak and chicken. Everyone is asked to bring a salad, casserole or dessert to add to the BBQ.

The Family Fun Day has been set for June 3rd starting at 9am - 3pm. Please make an effort to come either to help or take in the events of the day. It is definitely a Fun Day for young and old alike. Spread the news to all that you know so that we will have a great crowd and a lot of fun.

Amendments to the PCCA Trust Fund –

The PCCA officers have made amendments to the Trust Fund and have included them in this newsletter for your perusal. The sections crossed out will be replaced with the sections underlined. We will be presenting it to the membership at the May 4th meeting to answer any questions and asking for a favorable vote from you.

MEMORIAL FOR DAVE WORCESTER

Dave Worcester’s Memorial Service is on Friday April 28th at the Jonathan Eddy Cemetery in Eddington. It is located just past the Eddington Salmon Club on the Bradly Road, right side of street. Service is at 10AM and there will be a reception following at the PCCA Clubhouse. Dave has been a very active member of our club and many of you will remember him taking your money when you come through the door for supper meetings. Dave joined the club in 1989 and has missed very few meetings since. Please make an attempt to come and celebrate the life of one of our most loyal members.

Memorial planned for George Chalmers – Friday lunch on May 19th

George was a past president and lifelong member of the Penobscot County Conservation Association. He died on January 26, 2017. His wishes were to celebrate his life with friends, members of the Association and some of his Salmon fishing buddies while having a good meal. Please join us on Friday May 19th at 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at the PCCA Clubhouse for the celebration of George’s life.
